Help identifying these 2 wires
Hey guys. I am cleaning up some ground wires and some engine compartments and found these 2 wires disconnected.
The one RED wire seems to be coming from under the part that has the vaccuum tubes come off of it. I see no connections anywhere. I have no idea where it plugs into or what it is for. The other picture is from a cut wire that looks to be the same color as most of the ground wires but I want to make sure before attaching it. It is in the same wire bunch that goes to the fan blower but it branches off before getting there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once I get here running, she is going to get a engine bath for sure. Thanks in advance! 1972 1.7Lhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525308287.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525308287.jpg |
I have identified the red wire coming from the auxilary air regulator but can't find for the life of me where it plugs into. ????

Looks like a 1.7?
The white wire is one of the fuel injection wires, which are all white. There's a pretty decent chance that it is what powers the AAR, so it would wind up connecting to that red wire. Stick a voltmeter on the white wire and see if it gets +12V when the fuel pump runs. You can either have someone switch the key from "off" to "on" (it will get voltage for about 1 second) or you can jumper the fuel pump relay. If the wire gets power during either of those events, it is the AAR power wire. --DD |
