WANTED: used/new MUFFLER for 75 /914
Need a muffler for the 75 914 which i drove from Nebraska, it blew out less than 100 miles from home.(1600 miles)
Any Ideas where I could find one? can it be after market? could I find one that would fit in a muffler shop ? Thanks, for any help in this matter. Happy driving , Peter

75 914 muffler
I have a "MONZA" that is set up for a 2.0L . That is the one that has 2 mufflers and each one feeds into two exhaust tips. So you have 2 sets of 2 tips. I'm in Atlanta and if you send me your email address I'll forward you some pics. Al, ljgmere@aol.com

you should first ask what type of heat exchangers do you have...75's (original) are alot different form the standard. So, what does the connection from the heat exchangers to the muffler look like? If, for some chance, your car was backdated (commonly done) then a "75" muffler may not fit. Or...a muffler for a 74 and older won't fit either.

Thanks Jim, all I know is that the blown muffler is a Bursch. connections have 3 bolts, if that makes sense? Sorry I am learning. Thanks again

If you have a single pipe on each side of the engine, two total, you have the original exhaust.
If you have dual piples on each side of the engine, four total, your exhaust has been back dated. That is a good thing. If you have the original exhaust, now would be a good time to back date by getting an early 2.0 heat exchanger and muffler. Just a thought.
