HELP prepping 968 for glass-out respray

Well my 997TT sold very quickly and now I am contemplating keeping my 968 for the 100th time. Yes, this is me and imagine how my relationships must be! So the shop that I went to for paint doesn't want to dismantle the car to a glass out respray because it's too time consuming. If I do the work they are all in and the cost is much much less. How difficult is it to take the body apart and most specifically the plastic pieces on either side of the roof, door handles and mirrors, headlights and glass with seals. I can handles taking the bumpers, hatch and skirts off but it seems the pieces mentioned require a bit more work and complexity. If you have experience, or better, a DIY that would be amazing. If I can tackle this I will get it underway immediately and get this puppy painted!

The quarter glass is glued in place. Very difficult to remove.

The windshield glass is glued in place. Very difficult to remove without breakage.

The door windows are simple. The door handles are simple to remove, but need to be painted to match.

You should probably get a copy of the PET for your car from the porsche website...

The rear windows are easy if you get inside the car and press them out with your feet. The trick is having someone on the outside of the car to keep them from falling. A Harbor Freight suction cup might come in handy. However these windows are cheap, no big deal if one gets broken I think I have a set, do not recall much struggle to remove them. I think I taped them to the body or something like that.

I can't speak to the 968 - I yield to George on that but the on my 83, the windows do pop out and they are 'roped' back in.

The glass is an issue. Maybe I can leave it in....Are the drip rails on the roof difficult to remove? I have read about them but no pics at all and am a little worried that mine may bend.

Got the drip rails, rockers, and rear spoiler (all pieces) off the car. Next step is the door panels because if removing the door handles and mirrors proves too tricky I may abort completely. Are the instructions for the 968 door panel removal the same as the 944? Same for the door handles and mirrors...I see a lot of articles on 944's but very few on 968s.

The 968 door panel has a few more screws to remove than a 944 but otherwise it's the same. You have to remove the speaker and map pocket from the door panel first and then it's the exact same as the 944 panels.

Door handles are the exact same as the 944 and the mirrors are basically the same too with the exception for the wiring colors.

I got the driver's side off but the passenger side is having a problem. The screw behind the door handle just spins and won't come out. Any ideas?

If it just spins, the hole is stripped out. While unscrewing it, try pulling on the bezel and it should come right out.

I've done everything and it is not coming out. I may have to cut the bezel and buy a new one and then drill it out. I am trying to remove the door handle but this is a big impediment.

See if you can get a small flat-head or thin flat metal piece under the screw and pry and screw at the same time to help back it out...same as pulling on the bezel but the flat-head might work a little better.

As I contemplate this problem is there a good DIY door handle removal guide? I see the one for the 944's but I am not sure if it's the same.

How about glueing/epoxying a screw bit onto the screw head, when cured, remove by pulling and twisting with a pair of pliers

As I am making a list of hardware that I need does anyone know the part numbers for the screws and bracket that mount the side skirt to car? There are 7 of them on the bottom and this is one on ebay:

This might help.

Porsche Sill cover (810-05)

I have found the local Porsche dealership to be a great help in looking up parts.

Door handles are pretty much the same as the later 944, they have the electric lock switch to look out for, and the fun anti theft plates.
