Broken speed/ref sensor connector

So I was poking around under the hood last night, and ran into a couple of electrical issues.

1. The wire that connects the turbo cooling pump had corroded through and was broken. It had been previously splicedand I re-spliced it, but the wire itself is very hard and had a previous splice. i am thinking I may have to dig this out of the harness and rewire it whenever I take the top of the engine apart.

2. A connector at the back of the engine crumbled. I believe it is a speed/ref sensor connector, and I believe it is the sensor side, not the harness side. Can anyone tell from the picture? If so, does anyone have a pigtail from a bad sensor they could send me, or should I just coat the thing with liquid electrical tape? I have enough work to do right now that I would rather not go after the sensors which work perfectly fine (but since i said that, they will probably die on me now).

Bump - anyone know how to tell which sensor this is for? Chasing the wires is a bit of a mess back there. They had labels too. This one said DG, the other said BG. Cannot figure out what that means though.

BG is your TDC / reference mark sensor (closest to the radiator) and DG is your speed sensor (closest to the firewall).

You can purchase new connectors for the DME harness from Lindsey Racing, but I agree- it looks like the damage is on the sensor side, in which case you can purchase a replacement sensor from our host, PelicanParts.

Some googling may reveal that a similar sensor used by BMW is less expensive and also available from our host.

Thanks! I'd rather not replace the sensor until it needs it, so I think I'll coat the entire thing in liquid electrical tape, and maybe cover that with some thick silicone or something while I look for a bad connector to steal the pigtail from. Of course I'm about to undertake a TB job and a clutch master replacement, so the "while I'm in there" stuff that creeps up over the course of those may make replacing it easy/timely.

Well alright then. Incase you change your mind, you can grab a new one for $34.

Oof, the connnector completely fell apart when I removed it to try to salvage it. Anyone got a spare chewed up sensor they can sell me for a few bucks so I can harvest the pigtail? I have enough to do that I don't want to replace the thing if I don't have to.

$34 bucks, Derek....
