83 944

Finally was able to purchase a 944. Always loved these little cars. Wanted one for a long time. One final came available that I couldn’t refuse. Price was right couldn't pass it up

185xxx Miles. And my god was a fricken blast to drive. Spend most of today just out driving around. 275 miles on it so far and it was well worth my money

Just went through the Code options

C76. Which is believed to be leather option?

220. With LSD

418 body side molding

423 cassette container with coin box

431 leather steering wheel no airbag (which makes sense with the C76 code)

456. Sport Shock absorbers and Stabilizer.

Pretty happy about the LSD

Also purchased new stainless steel brake lines as mine are old and I believe are getting soft cause some brake drag and some wheel spacers for the rear. I can't stand how the rear wheels have so much tuck

Found my first issue yesterday. The motor just shut down like it was out of gas. After going through a few things, I pulled the fuel pump relay. tried to jump the terminals but was a PIA on the side of the road and wasn't successful. So I put the relay back in and it fired right up. seems weird the pump worked after I reinstalled the rely. The rely was a bit warm not hot but warm.

Would the rely just stop working if it got to hot?

Everything seems fine now.

Potentially - if there is a failing solder joint in the relay, it could cause an intermittent issue, though if it shut down completely I would suspect the DME relay more than the fuel pump relay. Good to ahve spares on hand.

Thanks I will pick up another one tonight to have as a spare. It just shut down without any warning.

How can such an older car be so clean?! Nicely done. And that dash is like new. Sigh of envy...

thanks

It's pretty clean but sadly and in fairness the dash is a cover. Original dash under is not so nice.

That's a real nice looking dash cover! My burgundy dash isn't great, if I could find a burgundy cover that looks that decent I might do it.

Had to see what they looked like on the 944

What the wheels actually go on. But hey this project still has a while. Might as well put them to use for a bit
