My 944 has 170,452 miles on it.

Just thought I'd share that with everybody seeing as how I was bored. I guess this post is especially for you who are 'thinking' about a 944.
I guess I've had it for around 46-47000 miles now. Which is also around 2 years.
Still my baby
Parts so far:
CV axle
Radiator hose
DME Relay
Inner tie rod end (which hasn't been done yet)
and thats it... :P I've also had the timing belts replaced.
I think this is my cheapest-to-own car yet
Starts every time I ask it to, and is fun as heck (thanks FR!)
ah well...
I need to go drive around again

my na 944 has 215,000 miles and drive it every day . my 951 only 68,000 I keep in up most of the time. Tell me what the deal is on the inner tie rod end? Do you have a slight shake in the stearing wheel. I think i might need a inner tie rod on one side but not sure, how do you figure out if thats needed?

I was told I needed it during the timing belt change.
On-center steering is bad.
If the road leans, then the steering wheel is always double the angle the other direction (make sense?)
Like, if the road tilted 5 degrees to the right, the steering wheel is 10 degrees to the left to keep the car straight.

180,000 miles on mine, all original, except the windshield. Still solid as a rock.

189,200 on my 951...

Currently apart awaiting some upgrades but on original engine block, unopened tranny, head, etc. I rebuilt the engine recently though but still...

136,000+ (dead odometer, in the last year by the maintenance records.) My estimate of actual miles is 139,000, with a little over 1,000 of those being my miles.

Ditto about the previous owners.

Thanks for Stating the Obvious Carter, I needed that.... don't forget to add this..
They're really Truely Unamazing cars when they're driven into the ground and never serviced properly, Oh! and they're sort of like a Pandora's Box if you buy one with no service records, but they're Amazing Project cars if you get one like that. Golly they're fun....would that work?.. hehe
