Fix Dash Cracks with Sugru?

Just purchased a really nice '87 NA...which has some dash cracks. Not large cracks, but centrally located and quite visible.

Of all the options out there...the one I find the most interesting is to use a "moldable glue" (glue in "putty" form) made by Sugru.

Technique involves using some of this glue to acquire an impression of the dash texture, then after this piece cures, it is used to transfer this texture onto more of the same glue which has been pressed into the dash cracks.

Has anyone here used this? Comments?

I have used it to fill some cracks. It will dry to a flat finish. The 'stamp' idea sounds good.
