Fuel injectors

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction for low-cost options for fuel injectors. Naturally I've logged lots of time checking online but perhaps I'm missing something such as a less expensive cross referenced idea.

Thanks!

A great suggestion, thank you. Confession time: I set one on fire while cleaning them. The alligator clip slipped off the connection and the spark took it from there.

Mr. Injector is in my home town and he's done a half dozen sets for me. Has a national following among hobbyists and includes a "before" and "after" flow graph to show how he was able to match the flow for a smoother engine. Search for it in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Great prices and fast turnaround. I think it's $17/injector. Includes fresh seals, and he likes it when clients remember to indicate what cylinder number as he etches it on the body.

So, if you are missing one injector out of a set, go to ******** online. They are having a closeout on 944 parts now and have one new injector left in stock for $16, made by the Standard Automotive Company. FWIW

I am immensely grateful for the suggest. As one might expect, the passage of time has made a change to the price: they're now $68 each (with core charge).

More on the subject.

https://www.motormanfuelinjection.com/PORSCHE_FUEL_INJECTORS.html

This chart helps with alternatives. The prices are still similar.

Injector Planet tells me the following good information but a search for the manufacturers' options only leads me to the same issue with time:

Bosch EV1 Fuel Injector
pintle nozzle

Flow rates @ 43.5 psi / 3 bar
24 lb per hour
181.7 G per min. (N-Heptane)
252.7 cc per min

2.35 Ohm resistance

Bosch 0 280 150 158
Renault 7700260543
Porsche 93060612000

0280150201 might be worth a look, there are some on Ebay listed as 944 injectors, some new options (including questionable Chinese knockoffs), refurb sets for cheap, even a 944 fuel rail and 4 injectors at a good price.

have you tested existing injectors to confirm they are defective and need replacing?

I have cleaned them by using hose, injector cleaner loaded via a syringe, 12 volt battery. Is that the same thing?

Nice! So, four would cost $200. Not bad!

Problem with AUS and others who simply batch buy used injectors and refurbish them is that you never quite know what you are getting. Luck of the draw you may get four OEM injectors or all fakes. Either way they will work to start with but if any are Chinese fakes they are likely to go out of spec or fail completely within short time.

I’d rather send my own in for refurb to a company that takes care to send the same set back rather than a company that swaps them out with refurbs they’ve got on the shelf. I also see that they are quite expensive ($49) for refurbed injectors whereas if you have your own done it’s half the price with Witchhunter or others.
