924 S Engine vibration......

Hello Folks it's been a while. Got up yesterday morning with a mid life crisis or shall I say " a bug up my rear..." and sold my perfectly running '01 BMW 330 ci for an 1987 Porsche 924. Notice engine vibrations (motor mounts or engine tune up) dash boards not working ( can't see jack in the evening hours) other than that I'm fine with it. Can someone give me a clue how to navigate the forum's site to get to right thread and hopefully resolve some of my new issues. Thanks again guys.

Your welcome. It could also be your balance shafts are out of sink.

or could just be bad motor mounts (or none-OEM ones). I have aftermarket mounts and I definitely get some vibration at idle, even though I know my balance shafts are aligned.

Generally bad motor mounts will cause vibrations under 2k rpm, where a misaligned balance shaft(s) will cause vibrations above that.

Your car is beautiful and worth sorting it out. Seeing such a fine car without the rub strips is enough to bring a tear to my eyes. But wait: is that a sunroof delete?! WE NEED MORE PICTURES!!!

When you say "dash board's not working" are you saying no guage movement whatsoever?

Curtisr, hold back the tear(s), I got an estimate to complete paint and body work to the car, so the moldings will be install when completed along with the stone guards and Porsche wording below the tail lights.
IdahoDoug, " dash board Lights" not working. But I found three to four loose electrical connectors and the pedals, (need time to investigate) but I jumped the headlight switch to operate the dash lights when needed. Will correct the problem soon. Thank you. Funny thing, the following day after purchasing the car, I wanted to see if the sunroof works. hahaha my surprise, No Sunroof. I busted out laughing and said to myself how could I miss the most obvious. But a excellent job with the deletion inside and out, I'm impressed and happy with it.
