Oil Cooler Removal

I checked out Wayne's garage and it says to disconect the exhaust manifold (headers) so I will have room to remove the oil cooler? I'd rather not (definate PITA). Can I remove the cooler w/out disconecting the headers?

Nope Dude, its not that bad considering that your only other alternative would be to remove the whoe head but then you would have to disconnect the flanges for that too Disconnect your manifold and then drop you exhaust so once you unbolt it you can remove it from the car.

Yes you can... if you have small hands....

I did my oil cooler seals from underneath...

Loosened the powersteering pump out of the way, sway bar.....

You can get in if you have the right extensions and elbow.

Good luck.

Too Late! I've started removing the header. Jr. is removing the last few nuts. I took a hard look at doing it w/o moving the header, but I'm tool challenged and I'd end up striping something (like I did tonight, striped the 6mm allen wrench bolt that holds the water line running next to the head. Fudge, again!

Hey Frank B, How about using "Fudge" instead of "poop"?
