1987 944 NA Leather options

Hey all, I recently bought my 3rd 944 I've owned and this particular one has leather on the door panels, under dash and leather console with full leather seats. I've not seen this option before and wondering how rare this might be?

You likely won't find exactly how rare it is unless you have connections to Porsche.

However, it is pretty rare. I would guess 1 out of a 100 cars have it at best. (That's a total guess, don't take that as anything remotely factual).

The exact leather options varied over the years. However, the leather interior (doors, lower dash, console, and I think seating surfaces) is option M981. Full leather seating (front and rear) is M983. The option sticker in the trunk or in booklet will show you what the car was constructed with.

Assuming you are in the US, the combination of M981 and M983 would have cost about 7k USD when adjusted for inflation.

Were in the trunk would i be able to locate the decal. For a late 944 assuming they are all in the same place

In the trunk, pull up the carpet to access the spare tire. The sticker should be behind where the license plate is affixed.

If it is missing, look in the service booklet. The three-character codes at the bottom are option codes.

Curious to see what options the car has. The sticker is white with black printing and is affixed to the body near the left side taillight. You'll see it when you pull back the rear carpet section off of the snaps.
