944 Wheel Bearings

I have a early 944 making noise in the rear end. I ordered wheel bearings, then discovered my Haynes manual did not have a procedure for rear bearing repair. Is this an easy job? Does anyone have recommendations?

It is very easy to replace the rear wheel bearings on the 944. Remove the rear wheel, take out the split pin and remove the nut. Remove the brake calipar, and swing it out of the way. Loosen the handbrake, and pull of the hub so the drum brake linings is visible. Now it is just a matter of working the bearing out with a small screwdriver, it should come out quite easy. There is another bearing on the inside of the stub-axle, but this bearing should normally not needs replacing. Good luck!
