catalytic conv? good or bad

i was thinkin about hollowing it out but it seems to be fine when i checked it out(no smells) i looked at it when i took it off and the screen looks white and not dirty at all and my emessions are way low so why bother changing it? is it worth it?

If everything is working why mess with it? Besides, don't these engines need some backpressure for torque?

Do not hollow it out. There will not be any measureable performance increase (you typically need at least 15 hp before any performance characteristic changes measureably) and even though most P-cars can pass a tailpipe test without a cat, that cat will still lower emissions. No sense in removing it, as the environmental costs outweigh the performance benefits.

And no, I'm not a tree-hugger, I just think that there's no point to pulling it off the car since there won't be any important gain.
