Safety tip today, with my 88 924S
As some of you good Porsche people know I've been trying to get my car back out on the open road. I'm a step closer, at least my putter is back in the golf bag. Anyway during one of my daily start ups and letting it run in my garage (I don't have tags for it yet to drive on the road) my friend whose helped me with some of it, noticed smoke coming up from my (automatic) gear shift. So we immediately shut it off and was looking all over for a fire, but all we seen was smoke. We had thought maybe a vermin crawled in and was napping, but upon further investigation some of the 30 year old foam material had fallen out of place and onto the tailpipe and was smoking. Note to self from now on check to make sure everything has clearance and anything hanging replace it if you can or take it out completely. On a good note everything seems to be working properly so far, I have scooted around the block a few times, but I live on a street the boys in blue just love to catch speeders on 😔. I have just one more major issue, but I'll have to take it to my brothers shop to install a new motor mount. Thanks everyone for your insight to all the crazy questions we ask in this forum...

I found it online at Burbank House of Hobbies. It took me forever to find this one. Happy hunting...
