Distributor firing order check on aisle 3?
So my yellow spark plug placement sticker fell off the alloy cam cover. I taped it on with clear tape. The car won't start but will buck and snort. I'm wondering if I taped it on 180 degrees out as it will read either way. I marked the wires and such but still wondering.
Could someone tell me what wire goes on the dist cap at the 2:00 position is when viewing the dist as a clock face from the front bumper? I have cyl 2 there. Continuing clockwise, I have cyl 1, then 3, then 4. Correct?

Sorry for high-jacking an old post. I'm getting a 1987 924S rehab project back running hopefully. The car ran before the water pump froze. PO shut it down right away and parked it for a couple years. I installed a new pump and belts and timed every thing per normal. Tested compression and it was low but uniform. It has fuel at the plugs. I wanted to be sure I plugged the wires into the (new) cap right before I started to suspect everything else. Attached is a diagram from a 944 I snagged off the web.
Added comment: Forgot to mention that I also replace the wires with Clewett Racing. Checked spark at all four cylinders and I have a strong spark. They didn't look fouled. At this point, I guess that leaves timing.
