Porsche Crest She's Running!

OK, my car started making a knocking noise after we put a new head on it. Today my dad and I tore it apart again. When we took off the head and looked at it there was a small piece of something jammed in the underside of the head in cylinder 4. The closer we looked at it the more we realized it was part of the valve seal from the old head! The only thing I can think of is that somehow it was thrown into the intake manifold when the valve broke then came back out when I ran it because we made sure there was nothing in the cylinder. We pulled the piece out of the head and looked at the block. The cylinder walls were fine and now the piston isn't smearing oil. I guess there was oil between the rings before. So we put it back together and I drove it home without any problems. It's running smoother than before, hopefully it stays that way.

Pretty good for a days work. I would have taken pics, but the digital camera messed up...oh well...

Thanks. yeah, definitely will be careful and take it easy (it's not like I was all that hard on it in the first place.) But yeah, first thing I'm going to do tommorow? Wash it...then go for a drive. It hasn't been washed in like over a month.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you
still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

...and I love my car all over again. I just went out during lunch with a friend and drove around. That was fun! it's also like 80 here, take off the sunroof, roll down the windows, turn up the stereo...wow...

thanks, yeah I've been keeping an eye on both the oil and coolant.
