break up and reduced redline after 15 minutes
After racing my 944NA for about 15 minutes, I am experiencing
a drop of the redline down to 5000 and then progressively less, and rough running with the throttle at max. Is there anything that would cause this after the motor was thoroughly warmed up??? I suspect the AFM, or the coil. I will begin a check of the ignition/coil/DME/AFM/fuel filter. The DME was serviced and warranted by Ian in Florida, I am using an MSD 7AL-2 with Blaster 2 coil. DME has the Russell chip 100+. Best, Giltgy |
Could be your speed sensor is too close to the flywheel as well. Had that happen and things would start acting up after the car was warmed up.

does the blaster have a 0.8 ohm external resistor installed on the supply side or are you wired off the 7-al?
I like using 8mm wires or better when the coil voltage upped to 40 or 50k. especially with multiple discharge controllers where running your fingers down the wires is like three cups of coffee. |
I am using the "Spiro-Pro" MSD wires(red with Gray boots 8.5mm I think) and have no
resistor on the Blaster. I can't remember the specific configuration of the wiring for the MSD/coil, but this could be a source of trouble. Maybe I am putting a strain on the ignition driver somehow and overloading it, but only after continued use?? Giltgy |
