Sending Unit Wiring & Replacement Connector
#1. My OEM connector crumbled and fell apart in my hands. Anyone know where I can get a new one? (NOT from a dealership) OR, is there a way to use bullet connectors to make a custom one? I have a 3D printer, so i just need copper that fits the lugs...
#2. I've found some information on which wire goes where, but not enough to finish the job. T = Brown = Ground To Frame G = Green = Connect To Fuel Gauge W = White = ??? >WHAT IS THIS FOR?< I'm rewiring the whole car from scratch, and using a cheap JEGS universal digital gauge display. So i need to know what each of the three wires actually do. Resources that partially helped: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/630481-fuel-sending-unit-wiring.html http://www.clarks-garage.com/pdf-manual/elect-13.pdf Thanks!!! - James Update: I've solved the majority of this problem! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCe6I6QXcO4 /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ |
The white wire is for the low fuel indicator light.
Many parts dismantlers will sell you an original connector with a stub harness. |

Thanks for the help!!! |
Yes, the white shorts to ground when the fuel level is low enough (on a stock tank, it is generally between 1 gallon and 2 gallons.)

Update: Not related:
My tank is completely empty, but the brand new sending unit I bought here from Pelican shows only ~35 ohms .... shouldn't that be reading as 60 ohms ??? |
According Clarks Garage Shop Manual, it should read 63.2 ohms.
