944 hard idle
I am still having problems with my 944 idling funny. I cleaned out the idle stabilizer valve and replaced the engine temp. sensor but its still the same. I also tightened the ground straps or bolts. The idle is usually low when cold but then levels out when it warms up. When the A/C, defroster or lights are turned on (any type of load) the idle drops and is unable to hold steady. Possible idle stablizer malfunction? The new bosch part is $140, so I would would like to try every possibility before replacing it. Thats a lot of money to waste if that is not what is wrong. Any other ideas would help. Thanks.

Check your battery voltage. Mine has a weak alternator and does the same thing.charge the battery and see if that helps.

I have a 86 944T that did similar things, shook like crazy when the idle dropped low also. The throttle cable has a detent on it that can be adjusted higher to keep the idle from dropping to low. It curred my problem, much more stable now.
