Retarded question of the day

Ok, as I understand it, parts of the vacume system only exists to run the EGR system, so:

1) Is the EGR key in the performance of the car?

2) Does this mean that all of the vacume stuff can be taken out
and ignored until the rest of the engine is running ok?

EGR tube itself - no, you can cap it

All other vacuum - leave it in place.
