Need help with airflow meter
 

The temp sensor in my airflow meter has gone wack making it hard to start when the engine is cold. The resistance in the air temp sensor circuit reads under 1.2K ohms when at approximately 20 degrees C. According to clarks garage the temp circuit should read between 1.45-3.3K ohms when between 15-30 degrees C. I find though that when I heat and cool the sensor it will adjust accordingly in terms of resistance but will slowly move out of range when it goes back to room temp. I have already cleaned and adjusted the resistor track in the meter and have made sure all contacts are clean and tight. I have also replaced the water temp sensor with no improvement. Car is an 88 924s. What do you guys think and where would be the best place to get a replacement meter? Thanks

I'd try a different DME relay for starters. lol

I dont think this will have that detrimental effect on cold start considering we all using 30 yr old AFMs, if you want an easy enrichment adjust the FQS switch on the ECU, tension up the AFM spring one click etc Ultimately you will need to upgrade to a MAF or ECU upgrade as the cars become older.

Check ECT sensor resistance as well.

Should be done at DME connector to verify wiring in between. A LOT of times, sensor checks out fine when measured at sensor. But at DME connector, nope, kaput, zip because of crispy cracked wiring.
