Stupid fan
ok i aint a real car guy here but i figure when your cooling fan never ever shuts off that would be like a bad thing M'kay. It's not the fuse. May be the relay or the thermo switch thingy dooha. I have no clue where to find the thermo switch so help a brother out. any other suggestions on what is wrong lemme know. It's a 1985.5 944. Plus it idles cold like crap. I looked at the other posts regarding that and one person mentioned weak valves. I checked my spark plugs (2 months old) and they were nasty. How much we talking here?

The switch is in the radiator, on the left side. As for the plugs, 2 months isn't really a long time for them to get cruddy. Sounds like a bad ring or head gasket, or some seal letting oil or water get into the combustion chamber.

Sounds like a familiar problem - in my case, it was the relay. The switch is fairly easy to remove and test with a pot of water and a continuity tester. Test it out before you replace the relay.
