No Hot Air

On my 85.5 944 there is absolutely no Hot air coming from the heating system.
The heater valve an outside temp sensor were checked and tey are OK.
The only way I can get hot air (only at full blast) is by disconnecting the mixing flap rod (simulating the breaking of the infamous plastic clip) and depressing the Defrost button.
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance

Please have a look at my reply to RichC on 02/20/00 about 944 heating systems. I think the same info may be of help to you.
Happy Motoring.

Have you checked the condition of the thermostat? I had a similar problem once and it turned out that the old thermostat had gotten stuck in the fully open position and the water in the system was simply not heating up enough (especially in the cold winter months. It might be worth a look.

If you have a 85/2 or newer, it could be one of the motors that controls the defrost flaps. They are a real pain to get to, but it's possible.
