Automatic to manual
I found an 86 Guards red 944 N/A.. looks really good, a guy just wants off of his lot (service station).. he's practically giving it away..THe only problem that I have with this car is that it's an Automatic. HOw tricky would this be to change it to a manual?.... or is it worth doing it at all...

Somewhere is the archives, there is an account of someone on this board doing the conversion, it seems to me like it was about two years ago.
Anyway I remember him saying that it was not all that bad. |
hmmm.... I have to look at the car again..but I doubt it will happen..

I want to say that a former member "Obin Robinson" did it, but I am sure that he had a donor car.

I think daly944 did it. He sold his 944 and doesn't come back here often though.

Why not just buy it and then turn right around and sell it at a profit? Assuming, of course, that the deal is as good as you think.

There does seem to be an Ebay market for the autos, in fact the last few that I looked at were listed as "rare" autos.
|
How much does he want for it? Maybe ill buy it for a commuter car:)
How many miles ect mech cond...anyhelp boss? |
WOW so mines "rare" now? I know what your thinking, but every time I sit in traffic on the LIE, I thank god for the automatic!:D

I don't know what he wants for it, I called him thinking it was a parts car, (these guys are pretty sleazy characters).. asking for the bumper shocks.. well, he aske dme if I wanted the car because he was sick of moving it around..hehe.. I asked him how much, so, he put the phone down and walked away for like 15 minutes... then came back and asked me to call him later..well, I did call him back and he told me 50 for the shocks. I asked him about the car and he said I don't know can you ask me tomorrow, so.. I guess I will.. hehe..
