I use pink fwiw, the color doesn’t matter it’s the spec as per the manual that’s key.

Pentosin - Antifreeze
I have used he blue G11 (nf) for years in the subarus, the Mercedes and the 968 but may start switching over to the glycerin based E version which is violet (and labeled with silicates as the nf). the silicates seal booboos in the aluminum but, with time, the silicates precipitate out which will harm the water pump seal. change it out every few years. the green coolant doesn't hold its pH long and that makes the plastic bits brittle. |

Thanks for that. I was mainly referring to the two common Prestones, but I'll be picking up a few gallons of G-05 later today.
Poor car's been sitting in the driveway for months after the coolant reservoir blew up. Time to give it a little attention. |

Don't know how fast you need the G-05 but Zoro sells it for about $15.
Order more than $50 from Zoro-com and it ships free with about 2-3 days UPS delivery depending where you live. Last edited by Pauld_94S2; 08-26-2019 at 07:54 PM.. |
