Weird Defroster Problem
Hello, I have a very strange rear defroster problem. When I bought this car, a 1986 Porsche 944, it was missing the rear shocks for the hatch, hence the Defroster was not hooked up. I attached the wires to the hatch shock, the lower wire on the passenger side needed a new end so I cliped one on so it would attach to the shock. When I attach the wire to the shock, my front dome light comes on, and will not go off no matter what. Is this the wrong wire? Has anyone ever encountered this?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks [This message has been edited by RichC (edited 03-14-2000).] [This message has been edited by RichC (edited 03-14-2000).] |
The passenger side wire has nothing to do with the defroster, it's for the dome light, it acts as a sensor to see if the rear hatch is open. There should be a plastic piece that is on the rod(of the shock) that goes between the wire and the rod when the hatch is closed.
