Pulls Left
 

My 83 944 has a definate pull to the left when I let go of the wheel. Iv'e recently replaced the steering rack and struts. The tires and brakes only have a few thousand k's on them. The caliper is not sticking either. The wheels were recently aligned also. There seems to be a bit of rolling resistance on the left front wheel. Could it be the wheel bearings? There's no frame damage (no accidents). Must be the bearings right?

Check your alignment, steering rack, tire inflation, and the control arms in the front, it could also be sticking caliper, all these are a lot more likely than a wheel bearing.
By the way, I saw your other post on performance, did your CO readings go up considerably when you removed the cat, and do you still pass emmisions with a margin?

In response to your question: No I haven't had the car CO2 tested. In my place of residence emissions testing isn't required to register a vehicle. Well, not yet, anyway.

Check your tires. If you cross the fronts and it pulls the opposite direction, or doesn't pull at all, then replace the fronts.If it still pulls the same, recheck your alignment. Is the steering wheel centered. What adjustments were made in your alignment.If the toe was set, camber and caster can still pull. Your wheel brgs will cause a vibration first. But to check lift the front wheels and grab tire at 12 an 6 and try to shake. If it moves you will feel it.Hope this helps!

How did you make out with the left pull? I have the same problem. My pads are shot so I'm going to pull them this weekend and head for alignment next week.

I can't do much about the problem right now as the car's still in winter storage for another month or so. But, I'm sure it's not the tires as it pulled left with the old tires also. When I spin the front tires, there is MUCH more rolling resistance on the left side wheel compared to the right, that's why I'm thinking bearings. I also have that good old early 944 60 mph shimmy, probably not bearing related though.
