Cold air kit/rear seat delete
A couple of questions folks.
Rear seat delete, does anyone have any pics that they can share? Is there a cold air kit for a non turbo, or does it have to be home built? Last edited by carfreak; 10-18-2019 at 03:15 AM.. Reason: misspelled word |

the stock airbox on a non-turbo is already a "cold air kit".

I personally do not have pics of a rear seat delete, but I can tell you that the cold air kits are a dime a dozen for these cars...the easiest and probably the cheapest option is to just home make one yourself however they will not work efficiently if you do not put or direct them in an area of the engine bay that will make it recieve "cold air". There are two places that come to mind when I think about the setup and that depends on which version of the 944 you have on the NA models there is a whole (look for a black gourmet) on the passenger side fender behind the headlight this could be used to direct fresh cold air to your intake...also if you have a 931/951 vented nose panel you could run hosing underneath the panel (I like this option the best) and direct it to you intake that way...here is a picture of my setup. Hope this helps!!!

Rear seat delete there’s not much to it, remove seat cut some new carpet to fit aperture and get some aluminium tube adjustable ends and bracktetry to build a rear brace bar. The rear seat can be lightened by removing the chipboard and replacing with foam board.

Mines covered in stuff so use your imagination, but for a rear seat delete i stripped the leather off the lower seat cushion and reupholstered in carpet to match the rest of the car.
So i still have a seat cushion if needed, providing sound insulation, but it totally blends in. |

There’s a <guy> on the 911 forums who makes rear seat delete carpet sets from Perlon felt, he’s done 944’s before so he has the patterns. Look great imo, best I’ve seen.
