Water ingress

Porsche 924

After driving in the rain, pools of water appear in the rear floor area (just in front of the rear seats). I am unable to determine where the water is entering the interior of the car.

Any suggestions?

It could be the rear hatch seal.

If your car has a sunroof it could be the drain tubes for the sunroof are clogged.

Door seal?

You may want to check the front carpet (or under the carpet). The 924 like the 944 will get small
Holes under the battery (tray) and the water will travel and end up in the back seat floor.
But you still have to check the normal places like the sunroof, rear hatch seal and the rear hatch
Glass around the top the glass.

Thank you ptech.

Following your advice, I have discovered water dripping from the battery compartment onto front passenger carpet (RHD Car)

Not yet found how water accumulates in the driver's side: but water appears to be pooling on the floor just beneath the switch for releasing the hatch.

Check the grommet for the hood release cable, and make sure the drains are open in the battery tray and driver side, or the water can get in through the a/c heater air intake.
