86 944 Motor mounts

Does anyone know of a published procedure for replacing motor mounts?

Thanks!

Ron

Check out the Hayne's manual. It gives some good info on some things, and none at all on others. All in all, it's one to own if you own a 944.

Send a message via Yahoo to Cebu
Go to Http://geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/3192
Click on "Repair Procedures"....

I did mine by just unbolting the mounts, disconnecting and removing the Air intake hardware up top and jacking the engine up enough too remove and replace the mounts. (Using great care not to overstress the exhaust/manifold system) and make sure battery is disconnected so that starter does not ground to underbody.

You will need a couple of jacks. You have to drop down the cross member that holds the steering rack and motor mounts, while holding the engine up at the same time. Do one side at a time.
Its a pain. becareful!
