My first 1983 944 Porsche?

On a 1983 944 Porshe with an Automatic, Is a Fuel Pressure Regulator and a Fuel Pressure Damper the same part? When I bought this car, the Fuel Pressure Damper Vacum Line is Blocked off. The Guy said it had a Leak. Is there a cheap source for these?

Also, he said the Idle Control Valve needed to be cleaned or replace. Where might that be located?

Thanks for any Help.

congratulations on getting a 944. I have been working on an 84 and now an 83 with an auto.

do some searches here and you'll find a wealth of info. unfortunately the PP search engine requires that you 'ask the correct question' as in iRobot.

the WSM is pretty easy to find as PDFs, and there is a site called Clark's garage. unfortunately he died and someone is trying to maintain the site.

https://clarks-garage.com/

what I have found is you need to go to the home page and select the Garage shop manual, the second one. then when you see what you want you have to right click on the link and open in another page. only issue I have with this site is lack of picks.

good luck and start reading.....

No, they are different parts that are not interchangeable.
