Engine Out Equals Floppy Tranny?

Dropped out the engine from my ’87NA awhile ago…and yesterday, while underneath the car’s back end, I noticed that the rear axles and trans looked askew. I then noticed that I could very easily rock the trans back and forth (more like rotate the trans around the torque tube axis) by hand. Is this normal? Makes sense that some flexibility is needed in this area…but this much?

The whole powertrain (engine, torque tube & trans) is supported by only three pieces of rubber and you’ve removed two of them. Don’t worry about it.

Just looked a bit harder and figured that out...but thanks! At any rate, the tranny will hang for awhile so I went ahead and blocked it from the ground for some support.
