Tire/wheel fitment sizes
Ok so Im kinda desperate... I have an 87 924S and I want to put 15in wheels other than the phone dials I already have... I saw people in other forums that were running 15x7 in front and 15x8 in the back... Thats pretty much what I would have liked to run, but I can't seem to find grippy tires for that setup... Can't find tires that are 225 or 235 for a 15 in... So my questions are: what are you guys running if you have this setup? What tires? And if I went with 8s all around so that I could find tires that fit (for example 245s all around) by how much am I f*cked with the front fenders? ... Any other solutions? (looking for a track and street touge setup)

Why don't you go to 16 inch wheels? The choice of Porsche wheels in 16 is very much greater, both in width and in offset.

Toyo RA1, and R888R are all available in 225/50R15. The RA1 is the rain tire for spec 944 racing and is still a DOT approved tire. I would recommend staying with a square fitment. The N/A cars don’t benefit from the staggered fitment like a turbo car, Porsche went staggered on those to help counteract understeer. If you want the staggered fitment go for 16” wheels and 205/55r16 front and 225/50r16 rear. I personally have both sets, square 15 set up, staggered 16 set up and find that the 15” set up handles better, and is lighter rotating mass. But, that’s my preference.

The 205/55 16 front and 225/50/16 rear is 944S2 factory set up. Phone Dials and D90s can be found reasonably. Club Sports and Fuchs in 16 can be pricey. Depending on the wheel you may or may not spacers for proper offset. Your factory wheel is 23mm vs 52mm for late offset wheels.

If you want to go wider there is no 15in factory wheel choice, 16in D90’s are relatively cheap late offset option and you have a choice anything between 6-9in wide.
