Technical Service Bulletin TSB

Hello to all,

Is there a section in this Technical Forum that has the complete TSB on the Porsche 944,S,S2 for me to research applicable repairs for my car?

I wish to read and bring myself up to speed as to the available Repair supplements.
Print out the listing in order to aid me or my Tech (if necessary) information on the car.

Thank You

Manuel

Manuel:

The Porsche 944 Factory manuals have a section for the 16V 944S cars built from 1987 on.

If you do not have the Factory manuals, what area are you looking to do work on and what MY is your 944S ?

I may be able to help since I have all the necessary documentation that Porsche published within the 16V section.

My car is a 1987 944S so with that said, the engine is the same as the 1987 2.5L.

To be Clear:
Same 2.5L engine in the 1987 944S as the 944n/a...HOWEVER, there are some components which are clearly different such as: heads, number of valves, intake, reference sensor and TDC sensor are in different orientation versus the n/a cars, etc., etc..
The MY 89 has a better troubleshooting diagnostic since you can use the computer to give you a diagnostic code when there is something failing.

Hope this helps.

The S had the TSB for the power steering switch causing fires.

Letter from Porsche regarding 944 S Power Steering Switch failure

There was also one about the cambelt vent for lots of 944 models? Dim memory.

Thank you so much for posting this TSB !

Helps me greatly, and I will be checking tonight whether or not I have the fix taken care of...or, some simple work to do.

Love this forum...we take care of our own.

I have all the Technical Bulletins for all the cars, there are literally thousands of pages so I don’t have them pdf’d, only a few. Most of the bulletins apply to more than one model and only a few are specific only to the 944S. One day I will sort them in order of model and pdf them...again one day.

Pardon me for not getting back sooner.

Ed (TibetanT), yes I will get back to you if there is any special concern that i need clarified.

Mike(9FF), I appreciate the effort. I am aware how much docs you have accumulated on Porsche cars.

Thank you to all your response to my inquiry,

Best of health to all
