From Paragon Products comes this note:
The Original Porsche 968 M030 19mm adjustable rear sway bar will finish out your 924, 944 or 968 suspension. The adjustable rear bar will allow you to fine tune the handling of your car so you're quicker on the power and quicker around the track. If your car understeers, just move the sway bar drop to the next stiffer position. Cars without a factory rear bar will require adapter SB6900 or SB6910 and a pair of factory drop links 477.511.051A or KLA Spherical Drop Links. Seeing an installed sway bar this is probably not an issue. The installation instructions, however, should be of greater help.

understood, i have already installed the sway bar, with new factory bushings, and the car already had a factory 14mm sway bar, so it was an easy bolt on. trying to figure out why the bar is hitting the support where the rear trailing arm attaches to the torsion tube. And is this a common issue?

Are you using the correct sized stock rubber bushings?
Are you using stock or adjustable drop links? If adjustable did you adjust to dial-out any pre-load? Did you tighten all the nuts and bolts with the wheels on the ground?

You didn’t answer if you tightened everything with the wheels on the ground. If you did it all on jacks then you’ll have introduced some pre-load that may be causing issues. Don’t forget rubber doesn’t slide like poly or Delrin, it twists in torsion and it can only twist so much.
Sort of grasping at straws here in the absence of anything obvious.
