Hatch glass heater / defroster troubleshooting
 

My new-to-me 1984 doesn't have a working rear glass defroster, and somebody also removed the wiper. So, I really need at least one or the other if I'm going to use the car as a daily driver.

I cleaned the connectors on and around the rear hatch shocks. I also thought I'd clean the contacts on the relay - and it turns out the relay is missing.

It looks like this car has a defroster relay that is integrated with the seatbelt buzzer, PN# 94461510201. I'm wondering if the buzzer was malfunctioning i.e. always ON and somebody pulled the relay to silence the noise and didn't know/care about the loss of the defroster.

I ordered a new relay with the buzzer and will see how it works. Is this buzzer/defroster relay the best one to use or is there another that is used as well? I see that there is another one PN# 141951253B that is listed as well but not sure if it's compatable with my car or only earlier models.
