Porsche 944 S2 Throttle Bodies Conversion ?
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a Porsche 944 S2 3L to be used as a track car. I would like to replace the stock injection system by a new inlet manifold to allow the fitment of 4 individual throttle bodies. My problem is in sourcing this specific inlet manifold who will allow this modification. Is there anyone who has already done this conversion? Do i need to have a inlet manifold fabricated or is it possible to buy this manifold ? Any information are welcome. Thank you for your interest Regards Matthieu |

Freakin awsome. That looks like a work of art. I am going with one of these set ups in the future. For now I'll be using a stock intake that I had an extrude hone done for a 86 944 na. I will be using it with a level II port and polish with turbo valves and springs by LR and 274# webcam with 10:6:1 Wossner flat tops, knifed crank and one piece header with 2.5 exhaust. An intake set up like that would go real nice with the motor I'm building. Good luck with your cars guys. Keep us posted

How would you control fueling with a setup like that?
MAF into a plenum before the TBs? Or outright MAP? |

Hi All,
Thank you for sharing your informations and pics. robert_hooper: I'm gonna contact Hayward Performance as your system is exactly what i'm looking for! Are you using the stock camshafts? Will you be using the air horns as it is on the picture or will you be using an air box to get fresh air in front of the car? Thank you Kind regards Matthieu |

Hi Matthieu,
I am using them without an Airbox but will be directing / creating a heat shield for cool air to come into them, I am using a 931 badge panel. Camshafts are custom, its not worth doing this unless they are, although I am using a standard bottom end, 11.1 Compression, The big thing is to understand that you cannot run a brake booster with this setup as there is just not enough room.... But talk to Lance... he was really good to deal with. I am all the way in New Zealand and he sorted everything out.... lance@haywardperformance.com Cheers Rob |

Rob,
I am already in touch with Lance Thanks to you! He seems very competent in what it does. He confirmed that the brake booster need to be relocated and/or discarded when ITB are used. Anyway, thank you for sharing your infos and keep up the good work. Do you have any ideas of what BHP figures you'll get from your engine? Regards Matt |

Hello everyone,
Quick update. I got very lucky to purchased the only inlet manifold designed and manufactured by Ninemeister as a one of project ! Designed specifically for the 944 S2 head with 50mm ITB. What i really like with this unique manifold is that it allows me to keep the brake booster unit in place. I didn't want to remove it as the car is braking very well with it. ![]() I will update with the results from the dyno sessions later on. Regards. Matthieu |

Hi All. How have your engines with the ITBs worked out? Any lessons learned, pain points? What are the benefits your seeing (throttle response, power, etc)?

Anyone around here running ITBs on 16v heads? Are they worth the hassle?
