Seat compatability

Does anyone know whether the (manual) seats from a 924 Turbo will bolt into a 911 and vice versa?

if i was a seat in a 924, i would definitely bolt into a 911, given the opportunity.

I know the 944 seats look a lot like the 911 seats from that era, but that's it. If they don't bolt in, a Plasma cutter (just in case) and a welder should get the job done

Thanks guys. Got a good chuckle. When I came back to my post I wondered how I was able to generate enough interest to get five replies.

Here's the deal. I have an 84 911 that has tired vinyl seats. I was able to get a good deal on a nice black leather passenger's seat from an 86 944. I know that seats from at least 85.5 and later 944s are bolt-in compatable with the SC through the Carrera (911s from roughly 78-89) and sure enough it bolted right in.

But now I nead a matching driver's seat. I saw one advertised in my price range that looks like it matches, but it is advertised as coming from a 924 Turbo. I don't know anything about 924 seats or 924 turbo seats. Are 924 and 944 seats interchangble? If so, then they should work in my 84 911 without any modifications. If not, as suggested, anything is possible with a plasma torch and enough JB Weld.

Thanks again.

Mike
