Good Deal?

Hi I just bought a 1987 942S and just wanted to know if you guys thought I got a good deal. I paid 1200 and the only things that seem to be wrong are the driver's door handle, the front fender is a damaged a bit, and it's a manual steering rack. Other than that everything is pretty much straight, the interior is good, the exterior is good (paint's faded a bit though) and it drives great. What do you guys think? Also I know the 944 is obviously the better performance choice, but I am already desiring a little bit more speed...any suggestions?

I think you got a pretty decent deal. Very fun cars to drive. The 924S has the same engine as the base 944, but the 924 is liter and has better aerodynamics.
If your wanting more performance in a straight line you've pretty much picked the wrong car. There isn't much you can do, I've been told get an intake, ECU, and a test pipe and then leave it. Don't waste your money on a throttle body cam (I was told by a few different people that I should get one and I personally think it's a joke). If your wanting more speed get a sway bar off of a 951 and you will be able to handle much better.
I'm going to warn you... Launching the car could very possibly cause you to need a new tranny (weak ring gear and pinion). However, if you do decide to take your touring car to the drag strip it'll come out of the hole real nice from 4000 rpm
