Pretty sure I need new CV joints - PICS

Good Morning All,

Started off earlier this morning getting the axles out to clean and re-pack...well maybe not.

Looking Good, all up on jack stands and secure

Got the right axle out without much problem, even with the Stage 8 locking fasteners it wasn't too much trouble.

I took the axle to the local spray it yourself car wash to get the majority of the grease out of there. This was amazingly successful! BTW, does anyone know what that yellow paint might be from?

After getting the outboard side apart, I found the following. I think I need new CV joints, probably going to drop the extra $ and just buy 2 axles with everything already assembled. I welcome your thoughts.

IMHO just buy new axles. You'll get new axles and four new CV joints, no mess, just plug and play. Our host sells them:

And while you are at it replace the axle to hub nuts:

And since you have the car and axles out check your brake rotors and pads, rear sway bar drop links and I'm sure I'm forgetting many more maintenance items.

It's too late now, but you could have just repacked them and swapped the axles so the parts are being torqued against the fresh faces on the other side of the joint faces. A lot of the newer CV joints on the market are cheaper steel than the original Porsche parts were back in the day.
