Fuel injector seals fragile?
I need to pulll the fuel rail and spin the injectors 180 deg. because the PO installed them incorrectly so that the electrical connectors interfere with the spark plug wiring.
Not such a big deal but it bothers me a little bit. I've pulled fuel rails a few times in other cars and it's not very complicated. Anything particularly tricky or fragile with the 944 na rail? I was thinking that I wouldn't need new seals but maybe I should have some on-hand just in case.

Good time to replace them anyways.
The o-rings and pintle caps are available for about $2.50/injector at Autozone/Oreilly/etc. They aren't fragile as long as not dried out. However, usually you can just loosen the 4 fuel rail bolts a little and lift off slightly and just spin the injectors around and re-tighten the bolts. You shouldn't need to actually remove anything from the car. |
