Opinion on dash covers

I was just wondering what you all think about dash covers. My dash has a few cracks in it and I was thinking of getting a new dash cover. Just wanted to know your opinions.

Iv'e installed a plastic cover over my cracked dash. While it's not 100 % seamless, it does cover a multitude of sins. Installation is fairly simple, and it looks much better than the cracked original. After a while, it just seems to 'blend in' and (almost) appears to be part of the original dash. For the price, it's a much better deal than replacing the actual dash.
I'd never go with the carpet covers, they look tacky (imo).
