Clutch issues, help please

Clutch went to the floor after the car sat at the airport for 2 weeks. It was 15 degrees when I came home. Car started, and after warming up for 15 minutes clutch worked properly. 2 days later, the clutch went to the floor and stayed there.

Tonight installed motive bleeder, cracked the bleeder screw on the slave and we can hear loads of air moving through the system. Some fluid is flowing, but mostly air. I don't see any fluid leaks in the system. Sounds like the clutch master to me. What do you guys think? Thank you..

1. Low brake fluid
2. Failing slave cylinder
3. Failing master cylinder.

Statement of the obvious: replace the master and slave together. John

+1 and the pipe/hose running between them. The hose gets porous with age and will suck in air.

Duh!! How could I forget that. I just replaced mind when it disintegrated when I changed my clutch set.

Getting ready to install new master and slave. Also the pipe/hose. I'm going to follow the instructions from Clarks. Any tips appreciated. Thank you.

I know many people say bleeding is hard.
This always works for me.
1 pedal to the floor for gravity bleed.
2 pedal up gravity bleed.
3 make sure the pedal is all the way to the floor and slowly pull up for final bleeding.

If you pump the brake fluid from the bottom you won't have any air in the system.

Master replaced. Slave replaced. Hose/pipe between them replaced. Seems to be the same issue.

Reservoir full of fluid. Motive attached, about 10psi. Just crack bleeder screw, very few bubbles, but not much fluid at all. If I open the bleeder screw further I see lots of air in the bleed line. I assume it's coming from the threads around the bleeder.

Shouldn't I be getting loads of fluid coming out when I open the bleeder? Should I be bleeding with the pedal up or down?

..

You still have air in the system, try pressurizing with Motive and also get someone to depress the clutch pedal while you open and close the bleed valve. Mix of Motive and old school method works for me, pedal going down - bleed screw open, pedal going up - bleed screws closed, repeat until pedal is firm.

Air gets trapped easily in the clutch system, bench bleeding the master and slave before fitment helps but you‘re past that. They are notoriously difficult to bleed, so just persevere.

I got mine by following someone’s advice to inject fluid in at the slave. I did this with a big syringe and short length of hose. John
