A/C Leak again

I need to know if anyone has ever had to replace the two o-rings for the high side and low side hoses as they enter the firewall near the battery?

I am down to 8oz of R12 again this summer and my leak detector is showing that both of these are leaking. As near as I can see I need to get the main wiring harness out of the way, some vacuum lines, and possibly the engine lifting hook. Any help would be greatly apreciated as I am running out of R12.

Sorry I have no advice, but I would be very interested to hear how it goes. I plan to do some A/C work in the future.

Good luck, please post the results.

I was able to do mine without removing anything. My car is an '86 951. I replaced the compressor front seal. However the darn thing is leaking from the rear of the case now. It only holds a charge for a couple of days.

Putting the car on a lift and removing the compressor might make attaching the lines easier. The lines are very stiff, and by removing the compressor, you can rotate it, etc.

Lawrence, thanks but its the actual hard lines as they enter the firewall into the passenger compartment. But I feal your pain I have already replaced the compressor, that was last summer and the front barrier hoses.

Not a problem, I am searching the archives and coming up with nothing, the best part is my mechanic has never done this repair before either.

I guess I would document it and take photos, but it looks like I may be the only one that will ever need to do this.
