Buyers Info Assistance

My brother-in-law has owned this '83 944 since new. I believe it has just over 60,000 miles on it. He hasn't driven it in years and it spent most of its time in our garage under winter storage. Since he's been contemplating selling it, he moved it to another garage for work due to an electrical failure. We joke that the car had a stroke because only HALF of the cars' lighting system works. (Markers, signals, park lights, headlights pop up but only one works). Any ideas? Besides that, I'm a bit interested in buying it myself, but I was curious as to where I could find extensive info on the car. I've been able to gather info pertaining to the extensive maintenance the (2.5L)? engine requires - but I'd like to find as much as I can on it. Another thing, when I drove it, the steering wheel shudders a bit over bumps...could that be loose linkage or a bad rack? I appreciate the help. You can view the "Beater" here. http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/shadowdog/Beater.jpeg

Thanks LtUSMC. That site provided me with a wealth of information. All my questions are easily answered now. If only I can find the bug that prevents more than one half the car work electrically. Oh well, nothing that a little time won't fix. Again, thanks a lot.
