Vacuum issues

Ok, I found a vacuum line that isn't connected and I can't find anywhere that it could have come from. At the back right of the engine bay, there is what looks like some kind of regulator with a big (3/4" or so) vacuum hose coming off of it. That one is fine. But on the inside (left side) of this regulator (for lack of a better term) there is a small line that runs across the firewall about half way and then curls under the intake.
Does anyone know what this vacuum line is for and where it needs to connect to?
Thanks

green944, Can you take a picture of the line that is out? I'll take a picture and see if it helps. Oh, in the engine bay, look on the left for a sticker next to the washer bottle that has the vacuum diagram.

I can't take that picture because I think the hose your're talking about is under the intake manifold but I think I know what hose is that. Check your heater valve and look at the top side where there is a pipe that goes in the head. That pipe has a whats looks like a valve switch that has 2 small vacuum lines. Check to see if both are in.

I am at work right now so I can't take a pic unfortunately.
Are you talking about the 2 lines that go to the fuel pressure reg. and the... (can't remember what it is called, it is on the fuel rail beside the FPR)? Both those lines are there. Do you have any idea what the part I am talking about that the line connects to is? It is just on the inside of the engine bay beside the firewall on the far right side. It is connected to the right side and there is what looks like a valve of some sort with a screw on top (part # 944.110.429.00) There a 3 lines off of that, a small vacuum line that goes immediately to the firewall and down and 2 bigger lines, one that goes down the firewall and goes into a smaller line and the other(part # 944.110.18 is all I can see of it) goes about 4-5 inches to a small black cannister (part # 928.110.429.06) This is what the vacuum line I am talking about comes off of. It goes about half way down the fire wall and down under the intake. It could have been just stuffed there by the PO. I am not certain.
Anyone have any ideas what the function of this line or what these parts are?

that's exactly the same thing that i found when going through my engine bay, and you're right I believe...it connects under the manifold on the Y splitter.

Under your hood there will be a vacum diagram sticker that should answer the question.
