Tried searching on the forum for the answer to this but I can't seem to find it.
The cap to the steering rack housing has a shaft seal on the inner portion that seems to be different in my car compared to every other photo or video i've seen online. Article on Pelican Parts and a Youtube video from Rennbay say that I should be able to place the seal in but can't seem to do it.
The seal in my steering rack cap was green and seemed like it was built or glued into the cap. Upon removing it, you can tell that the new seal from the Reseal Kit won't fit. I'm sure I'm using the correct seal from the correct reseal kit that I ordered for the car.
Anyone encounter this problem on their steering rack? Mine is from an '83 944.
Sorry for the poor description but I'll edit and post photos of whats in my car for clarity. The photo in the link is how it's suppose to be.
