Dark Brown Dash Color: Best Refinish Match(es)?
Hello All,
I'm asking this question outside of my Renovation thread in the hope it will be more productive/useful in the future. I'm working on a near-total strip and refinish of the dash in my '87 924S. The dash is the dark brown common to many 924's and early 944's (and Audi's, VW Scirroco's etc, I'd bet). Has anyone matched this with an aftermarket vinyl/trim paint, such as something from SEM? Their 15023 Cordovan looks like the closest match, but that's me looking a photo of a printed color chart, on my laptop; likely not too accurate. I'd also like to keep the sheen on this as low as possible. I have paint guns etc so will likely apply the color that way, as opposed to with aerosols ... are there dulling additives for this kind of paint? Anyone with previous experience, your feedback would be appreciated. I've submitted an inquiry directly with SEM and will share any responses they provide. Thanks in advance, John |

Check with Colorplus. They can computer match their surflex to your color. Waterbased, apply with paint brushes. Clean up with water. When done, you will not be able to tell the difference.
