center console problem
 
My '85 944's center console doesnt open. I just recently aquired this vehicle & has no idea how to open it. Pls. help.

Mine is an '86T but I suppose it could be the same. There is a little button about in the middle on driver's side. Mine is strange. If you squeeze both sides with tapes stored in the console, it won't open. You just have to push from the driver's side and lift at the same time.
