Hello,

I am thinking about trying one of your chip for the 85.5 on 944 n/a.
I dont know if i read it correctly in another post, but you said you are selling all chips for $100 in April? If so, im interested, thanks

John

Also should i expect worse gas milage?

Compared to driving a 944 with stock chip somewhat hard sometimes to driving a 944 with your chip somewhat hard too?

Thanks

I just read your site about it, sounds good, is it reliable, i mean will it put any more stress on the engine or is it better for it since it will run a little richer now?

Switching out chips isnt that hard is it? I mean if i go for emissions, i should probably put the stock chip back in, this wouldnt be too much of a hassle would it?

Im actually wondering if i have a chip in mine, it smells rich and reads pretty rich on my air fuel gauge especially in high RPM's. I hope not, because i want a little more peck out of it

My opinon, even though I'm not who you asked

I love it, I swapped it out with the stock chip while trying to figure out a random problem, and couldn't believe the difference in low rpm power...
I haven't noticed any difference in gas mileage, and I drive hard all the time...

Ah well, I'll go away now

Hey ilikemy944:
I appreciate the input !!!

FR WILK:
so the $200 includes the setup to run 2 chips at once that you can choose from with a switch, and the performance chip?
Thanks

John

John,

Not wanting to speak for FR, but my PP2 is a single chip with a plug adapter for the altitude sensor. Once installed, you will notice the difference in low-end performance. The hardest part of the install was takin out the kick plate to access the DME.

During the 80's I must have changed hundreds of EEPROMS on DCE, just take your time and dont hurry line up the pins carefully. The instructions are very clear. Pay attention to the ESD precaution (most will ignore or bond themselves to building steel/cold water pipe), if you need an ESD strap I can mail you one I have several spares.

BTW, the a/c control unit was being installed yesterday. Good thing, because we had a few days in the 80s this past week.

Thanks again,

Bob

So let me get this straight (I'm slightly confused). You can run the stock ECU normal driving, and then you can flip a switch and have the FR WILK chip work?

Also, have you ever got any real performance increase figures through dyno or anything? I can dyno my car for $20 bucks down the road for me, i think i will flip the switch one way and dyno it, then the other and dyno it. Thanks

I will definately need to get one of your chips once, or if, I ever get some money. I have heard nothing but great reviews of it.

I think this pic explains the problem with the installer!

"This is your brain on drugs"!

I think that might be the problem.
